The Timeline
Ciboro Foods is founded in Montreal, Quebec. A lean operation with a narrow range of dry goods, a single warehouse, and a commitment to being the distributor that actually returns calls. The market was looking for reliability. We decided to provide it.
Early distribution partnerships established with regional retailers and food service operators across Quebec. Word-of-mouth drove growth faster than any marketing spend. Our clients told other clients.
Fresh and frozen products added to the catalogue, requiring significant investment in cold-chain infrastructure. The expansion was client-driven — our buyers needed a single reliable partner across all temperature zones.
First international supplier relationships established. Olive oils from Spain, legumes from Turkey, specialty provisions from France. A new chapter: Ciboro as an importer — building the global sourcing network that would define its catalogue.
Distribution partnerships extended across all of Canada. The SKU count crossed 100 products. What had been a Montreal business became a national one — without losing the responsiveness that built us.
Doubled refrigerated and frozen warehouse capacity to meet growing demand for temperature-sensitive products. The investment was made ahead of demand — so we were ready when clients needed us to be.
Our clients kept asking if we could handle their packing too. We partnered with certified facilities to offer private label manufacturing, co-packing, custom labeling, and recipe development. A new division — built entirely because our clients trusted us to do more.
Distribution footprint expanded across the US and Canada, powered by our European and Mediterranean sourcing network. We now source from 10+ countries and deliver to retailers and food service operators across North America — with international distribution expansion on the horizon.
The catalogue exceeded 200 SKUs. The packing division grew. The team expanded. The phone still gets answered. The next milestone is already in progress.
Looking Ahead
Every milestone was built on the previous one. Better infrastructure, more capacity, faster service. Our clients grew — and we grew with them, always slightly ahead of what they needed next.
